I think this is something alot of people would want:
A way to mute a specific person's song without having to mute your own music For example the overlapping thing -PlayerA plays Song to Self- -PlayerB plays Song to view-
Then there is a dispute about overlapping the persons songs and Stuff.
So just something to consider

I understand what Necris is saying, it's really simple but complicated at the same time, a good idea : If someone is playing music to self.. and if someone plays a song to view, it wouldn't play for the person playing to self. If that's what you mean it's actually kind of difficult. BYOND's music system and browser system aren't very good, because you can't make a variable for the person playing to self to define they're listening to music, then when their music is over it goes back to original. You can't do this because : You can't define exactly how long it will be; So it would be an unstable system. Basically to fix the problem like that I think Dean should make a toggle view/world system for players rather than just GM.. So.. If a user hits the verb "Toggle Music" a popup could come up, "Would you like to.." "Toggle View" "Toggle World" "Toggle Both". If someone has the variable say.. "usr.worldmusic=1" it will change it to 0 (So they can hear world music again(A switch system.. If someone has 0 it goes to 1 if someone has 1 it goes to 0. Basic enough.)) when they hit world music, same for view with a different variable and both would be both together. That could work to fix that problem, if someone wants to listen to their own music.. They can listen to it like that, and then when they're done simply retoggle it. That would be much more convenient then.. options>preferences>wavmidi"off" I don't know if I got anywhere with this post, I kind of got into a typing fury. Haha.

Removing world play is a bit too much, ya think? People who like music in other servers like world play sometimes If there's a problem with world play, it can be turned off. It doesn't need to be removed completely. To the overlap debate; Play-to-view was said to be exempt from the overlapping rules because it was assumed you'd be the only one to hear it most of the time. From here on out, the way you can overlap a song you didn't play and not get in trouble for it is to have used "Play-song-to-self". If someone overlaps your song-to-self, just replay it. Problem solved.

I think a good idea to me instead of that, is when the current song is over, the person that played the next song first will have that song played, no overlapping, such as...
PlayerA:Plays a song PlayerB:Plays a song while thecurrent song is still player but PlayerA's song has to finish to before PLayerB's song to start.
I know this will be alot more coding but I think this would really help CC with lag and overlapping.
Also, The thing where when ou play a song to self, then someone else plays to veiw, I think they should cancle that play-to-view song for yourself or have a pop-up that says, would you like to change songs? Thats another idea I had.
