The whole game freezes, and then I have to use the task manager to exit it. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? No other game in byond's history has done this, but Chao Chatterz. I really enjoy playing this game, can anyone help or make suggestions?

What version are you using?
Also, have you tried more than one server?

I'm using 3.0, or 3.5 cant remember what it's called, but it's the one before the beta one which I dislike greatly,(The beta I mean) and yes I've tried all servers. Sadly they do not work.

click and lookie mai dreamseeker's memory usageYep, whilst playing CC. Unfortunately, it's a BYOND bug. My solution would be to delete your cache folder every now and then depending on how much you play BYOND. Frees up alot of memory when loading resources.

You could download this quick script I made that does the job h1.ripway.com/Master_Jace/QuickProgs/CacheDelete.exeOr if you're paranoid that it's a virus, locate the BYOND folder in your apllication data folder, it should be something like C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\BYOND\cache With [User Name] being the name of the account on your computer. You won't see the application data folder if explorer's set not to view hidden folders.

Nope, that didn't help, thanks for trying though. I guess I just can't play anymore then. I hope this doesn't happen to any other game I try to play.

Jace, I don't believe that script works for everyone because of the different user name, if you could allow people to enter their user name before it starts. I tried your script myself and it did not delete my cache. Or it could be that Vista places it in a different location >.> Keiko-Bunny, if you did not try deleting it yourself that may be the problem.

I also tried to delete my cache, I did, the folder, but the same problem is happening, so I guess the game just hates me or somthing'. >.o I did it with the script, and manually.

Try uninstalling BYOND, and reinstall it. And you could even try 4.0 >.>

I'm running on Windows Vista, home edition. Might I also add, upgrading byond didn't help either. Neither did un-installation. I do however thank you all for trying to help me.

Windows Vista, ah yes the Very Buggy Beta OS Here what you do 1)right click dreamseeker 2)click properties 3) click compatibilty 4) click run this program in compatibilty mode for "Windows XP service pack 2" 5) Click "run this program as administrator 6) Click apply and ok then it should work
EDIT: you may have to do the same for Byond.exe and Dream daemon.exe

Nope, didn't work. In fact now the only way to even get it off my screen is to use the task manager. o.o; My friend also suggested a virus scan, which did indeed find a harmful virus, and removed it. I thought it was the problem, got on, STILL DIDN'T WORK. xD

Well, the first problem would be that it's on Vista. I mean, it's not that BYOND isn't compatible on Vista, it's just that BYOND sucks in general on XP, what better way to screw that over with running it on a newer OS. Since it's vista, if it's a BYOND bug, it'll be a while before there's a fix. I'd recommend confronting the BYOND forums with htis issue. Jace, I don't believe that script works for everyone because of the different user name, if you could allow people to enter their user name before it starts. I tried your script myself and it did not delete my cache. Or it could be that Vista places it in a different location The script uses the user name macro so it automatically inputs the application data location. It's most likely that Vista tosses it's s**t in different folder. (Way to make program compatability even harder to incorporate, Microsoft). If someone can tell me what their locaion is for the BYOND folder that houses the cache, it'd be very useful.

C:\Users\[Username_goes_here]\AppData\Roaming\BYOND\cache\
Delete everything in that folder then try try again

Well, at least we can all agree that Vista sucks for Byond, and I'm pretty much hopeless until they fix the bug. >.o
